Ferret Summer Olympics – Who took home the Gold?

On June 25th, the Mile High Ferret Club and Ferret Dreams Rescue held their annual Ferret Summer Olympic Games.  It was a record turnout and over 40 ferrets participated in the various games.  The top 3 winners of each contest won Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals plus Gold, Silver and Bronze Gift Bags filled with lots of fun stuff for the ferrets and their owners.

Ferret Summer Olympic Games

Get your ferrets ready for our annual Summer Olympic Games presented by the Mile High Ferret Club and Ferret Dreams Rescue. Enter your ferret in any of the five games and your ferret may win a Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal and a Gold, Silver or Bronze Gift Bag filled with wonderful prizes for you and your ferret.
Olympic Game Rules:
Each Game costs $1 to Participate
You may play 1 or all 5 games.
You are allowed to play each game only once.
You choose which ferret of yours to play each game
If your ferret doesn’t finish contest, there are no 2nd chances.

Ferret Dreams Makes A Pit Stop At The Ferret 500

On June 3rd, Matthew, along with Board of Director Belinda Poirier and her daughter Zoe, attended the Ferret 500 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The ferret show is sanctioned by the American Ferret Association and has attendees from all over the country.

The “Main Event” is the judging of ferrets in the many categories and classes.  There are also games and races, raffles, costume contests and many vendors selling their ferret related items.

Matthew brought back a lot of exciting new items for upcoming Mile High Ferret Club Raffles and the September Wine & Cheese Auction.

Ferret Dreams Rescue hopes to one day bring a similar ferret show to Denver.

Ferret Fiesta Party and Raffle

The Mile High Ferret Club is Celebrating Cinco de Mayo except on the 21st de Mayo. The giant ferret playpen will be converted to Old Mexico with Mexican Music to fill the air.

Ferret Dreams Rescue is having another great raffle with lots of fun items for you and your ferrets. All monies raised from this raffle goes into the Ferret Dreams Medical Fund.   Tickets will be $1 each or 15 for $10.  There will also be a “Big Ticket” raffle item to be announced soon.  Tickets for this item will be $3 each or 4 for $10.  

As always, we will have a Potluck so bring something yummy to share. Side dishes like tacos, chicken, pasta salads, pizza, etc. are always easy and quick. The Ferret Club will provide drinks and desserts for everyone.

Admission is free for club members
Admission for non-members and guests of club members is $10 per person.

Black Footed Ferret Education Day – April 23rd

Travis Livieri, Executive Director of the Prairie Wildlife Research will give a 75 minute presentation on the only ferret native to North America, the Black Footed Ferret
He will touch on the history, biology, captive breeding and reintroduction of black-footed ferrets. Further, he will talk a little bit about the black-footed ferrets at Rocky Mountain Arsenal. Travis will try and focus a little bit on the similarities and differences between black-footed ferrets and domestic ferrets.
 
He will bring along some of the gear that is used in the fields.
 
To raise money for this great cause, merchandise will be sold at this event. Merchandise include hoodies, t-shirts, plush toys, books, earrings, Junior Biologist Kit, etc.
 
Chance to win some Cool Black Footed Ferret Items and Domestic Ferret Items.
 
We will have a Potluck so bring something yummy to share. Drinks and Desserts will be provided.
 
Bring your healthy and Non-Aggressive ferrets to play in our giant playpen.

St. Patrick’s Day Party and Raffle

 

Join us on March 19th for our St. Patrick’s Day Party and Raffle. The giant playpen will be converted to everything Irish including Pots of Gold and Green, Green, Green. We will have Irish Music to get us in the mood.

Ferret Dreams Rescue will have another big raffle to raise money for the Medical Fund. Over 20 raffle items for you and your ferrets.
