As the year 2010 comes to a close, we thought it would be appropriate to nominate our veterinarians as Heroes of the Month. Our heroes this month are Dr. Joseph Bock, Dr. Jerry LaBonde, Dr. Paula Bumpers, Dr Kris Ahlgrim and Dr. Matt Booth.
These veterinarians have helped our ferrets throughout the year in many ways. Some of our days are filled with vet appointments and some of our nights are filled with emergency visits. We never know when a rescued ferret will become ill or be surrendered needing emergency medical treatment. All of our veterinarians have helped us through all these situations.
Some have allowed us to drop off a ferret to be watched and cared for throughout the day. Some have stayed open late for us because of a medical emergency. Some have even taken our rescues home with them to be watched throughout the night.
These veterinarians and their wonderful supportive staff members have guided us, supported us, and at times, consoled us. All of our veterinarians are the best ferret-knowledgeable veterinarians in the Denver-metro area. We appreciate their wisdom, their knowledge and their compassion towards our ferrets.
We couldn’t run our rescue without these fine men and women. We couldn’t have a medical fund without their trust in us. We are very thankful and grateful to them all for helping us through thick and thin, high and low, happy and sad. We appreciate your time and energy you spend with our ferrets but we especially appreciate your compassionate hearts towards all our rescues.

Dr. Paula Bumpers is amazing, she has been such a help with our 6 ferrets. She is very knowledgeable and generous. Our ferrets love her.
For emergencies or checkups I would trust Paula with my ferrets.

It is with great sadness in my heart that I mention that Dr. Joseph Bock has retired as of last week. He has been my friend and vet to many of my ferts for almost 20 years. Dr. Bock is one of the most passionate and tender hearted people I know. And without his ferret expertise I don’t know what I would have done over the years. I took my four fuzzies in last week for one final check up with Dr. Bock and my heart is broken. Joe will be missed terribly.
